These Home Improvement Companies are Doing April Fool's Right

By

April Fool's has become one of the key marketing moments of the year. Take a look at the Home Improvement companies below that put out some great pranks that got them noticed, and possibly even fooled a few consumers.

Nest + Virgin Mobile

Nest Founder and CEO, Tony Fadell teamed up with Sir Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Mobile, to put together this (almost believable) prank about Virgin America planes installing a Nest thermostat for every seat on the plane.

Even though this started as a joke, we're hoping it becomes a reality some day. Can you imagine having a seat on an airplane that was actually a comfortable temperature? Dare to dream.

Build Direct Invents Chocolate Floors

BuildDirect is a well known flooring company who apparently teamed up with Willy Wonka for this April Fool's joke. Of all the April Fool's jokes we screened for this article, my team is the most disappointed that our office won't be installing new chocolate floors this year.

Honda Goes DIY

I know Honda isn't in the Home Improvement industry, but their nod to the DIY community is a big deal for DIY Consumers everywhere. Their joke is essentially proof of the importance of the DIY Consumer.

Honda takes a risk (and nails it) by poking fun at hipsters as well as Amazon's drone delivery, all while incorporating a DIY car. So we'd like to declare Honda the unofficial DIY April Fool's Winner.
